 Hello, I have installed windows xp mode on my windows 7 ultimate machine, everything is good, i have an i7 processor so I can run windows xp mode with no problems, but I installed office 97 for testing purposes, and after the installation is done i can run it with no problems but I cannot see the "windows xp mode applications" folder in the win 7 start menu...
basically this is what I see:

But it should look like:

As u can see I should have a folder with the name Windows XP Applications.

But I dont and im using the RTM version of XP mode.

I should mention that I am using the win 7 in spanish and XP Mode in spanish too (x64 version)

I also checked this options and all of that and everything is fine

Any solution?

PS: Thanks mod for moving this thread to the right location. XD

You will see the folder once you actually install some programs in XP Mode. This menu mirrors the icons in XP's Start\Programs menu. More specifically, the "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs" folder.

Why don't you just create your own folder, then copy and paste what you need over? It might be a bug, but that's what I would do.

Also, some of my programs didn't get auto-published so I copy and pasted them over. Works for me...

Office 97????
He did say it's for "testing purposes". For what it's worth, I install Visual Basic 3 and an old version of Netscape Navigator (both 16-bit apps) in XP Mode and it put the icons into my start menu fine. :P

Thanks! I was thinking about something similar. I will try and see if it works
