i forgot that 7077 wasn't RC XD I never changed it since it was "supposedly RC1"
Hmmm - I had issues with WU working too when I first installed build 7077.
See http://www.sevenforums.com/sf-team/6686-windows-7-build-7077-x86-11.html#post66688 and read on down to the fix Shawn mentioned - I never got any confirmation from Windows that it did anything but the next time I tried (after yet another reboot) it started working.
