My PCI wireless card no longer fits in my new computer  so i need to buy a new one. Is it worth going for a pci-e one? I have a spare pci-e x1 & x4 which I could use or should I just stick to a usb one? I wanted to get N draft one so obviously a pci-e one is pretty rare and expensive. Is there any performance increase in pci-e over usb? What about signal quality. Given that internal ones come with a external aerial and usb one dont?

Any thoughts, musing and comments are very welcome

Chris

I always get better signal using pci cards
external USB adapters signal is weak after 100ft
and depends on how many walls too.

Im using a pci belkin g card in an old pc in my garage running Ubuntu 8.10
and i get a good signal strenght 56%.I already tried couple of USB adapters(Netgear,Linksys)but I get like 24% and less :(

so get pci.pci wireless N card are like $30-$35 with free shipping on NewEgg.com

I've got a PCI one already but I cannot fit it in my system anymore. I was looking at PCI-express vs USB

The usb ones with antennas are a little bit more expensive than regular ones.. but if you want to spend between 45-60 thats the way to go..
I see good reviews on those
