I reformat my drive. I can NOT get Wireless connection to work.

I got Internet when I hook my computer with the router. I went to Dell support to download the driver for Dell Inspiron 700m. I downloaded intel(r)pro/wireless 2200bg network connection. However, my computer does NOT connect or show the sign on the task bar that it has recognized any connection.

Please tell me what am I missing? How to get the connection wirelessly. I had no problems with WinXP. I have problem with Win7.Please help. Thanks for your time.

1: Does your Wi-Fi connection show up under Available Connections?
2: Go to Device mgr and check under Network Adaptors. The wifi driver must be installed and enabled.
3: Reset your wifi router and check if its showing up now.

Sounds to me like you've upgraded OS and your wireless card is either no longer supported, or your just downloading older drivers designed for XP

Dinesh,

Diness ,
For #1 the answer is NO. The network has a sign at the taskbar and it says "not connected".

In terms of Network Manager, where and how do get it pls. Thanks

Did you get the problem fixed?... if not, does the sign at the taskbar say 'not connect - no connections available'?... if so your wireless is turned off. On my Dell I can turn the wireless on/off using the F2 key.
