Wireless Internet, Wired Network...

Hi all, thought this is the best place to ask...

Is there a way to plug my computer into my LAN and have access to my home network but avoid using its internet access altogether? So that I can use a separate wireless network for internet?

You could consider a "Virtual Private Network"?

Cheers!

The router can deny you outside internet access. Set a filter for it.

iseeuu, is VPN hard to setup? Whats the advantages over regular sharing?

Guarant...could I set a filter so only my one computer is blocked internet access? What might that option be called.. i'm looking in the router now for it.

The advantage is you can have two seperate networks, one with Internet access and one without. I would you suggest you Google VPN or search the MS sites for tips on how to setup a VPN.

We would need to know the make and model of your router (you have two, one wired and one wireless?) before we can help there.

It would be called IP Filter - to deny LAN IP addresses access to the internet.

Alternatively, you can set it's firewall to do the same thing.
