Wireless Network Connections Dissappear.

I have a problem where if I shut my laptop for a period of time (hibernating?) and come back, Windows 7 sees no networks where there are typically 4 or 5 in my neighborhood that are always up and running. I Need to shut down and restart and sees all networks immediately.

I have tried the Diagnose and Repair options, but it does not reconnect.

I do have the latest drivers for wireless card and router. The router is a linksys wrt54g and the card is an Intel Wireless WiFi link 4965AGN. I'm not sure that the router is all that important as ALL networks disappear, not just mine.

I am using Windows 7 Build 7000 and my PC is a Toshiba Satellite P305-S8842.

Anyone else see this? A quick browse of the forums did not turn up the same issue.

Thanks!

Same problem here.
I'm using Netgear usb adaptor.
When I return to the PC it's gone to sleep
(even though I have tuned-off the hibernating/sleeping functions)
Space bar should bring it back within seconds.
Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
Often I have lost my Internet connection and cannot get the pc to reconnect.
Shutting down just hangs.
To re-boot, I can only press the power button and count ten...

Have you got the latest drivers from Netgear? They don't have new Win 7 drivers yet, but the latest drivers work if you disable "driver signature check" when booting up. :)

I'm using the Netgear wg111v2 wireless adapter at the moment. I dont have the problem when my PC comes back from sleep mode.

What! Every time you boot?

I may have v2. I am not sure.
What numbers and details does properties tell you.
I am having trouble getting any drivers out of Netgear.
I cannot get the download to work. Although it did in the past.
Which makes me think I have the latest drivers.
Do you have a good link, Romulinx2?
Or a good copy of the setup file...

Yes everytime I reboot, just press "F8" and disable the driver signature check" I dont reboot much because I dont have many problems now. My PC usually goes into sleep mode.
My adapter has all the info printed on the side of it!
Here's the download link for the wg111v2 drivers: WG111v2 Support Page

Ha ha, no I meant my driver version, not adaptor :o
Thanks for the Netgear link for the drivers.
My searches found only v2.1 and the links were broken. Yours works.
Funny, I am usually the one to find stuff. But not this time.
I am grateful for your help, Romulinx2

I get the same problem as the OP. I'm running on an Acer Aspire 5680. I don't think there's anything wrong with the router or anything, just that the wireless network card is crapping out after sleep/hibernation mode.
