Hi guys,

Just joined the forum and recently installed build 7260 with sharks007 windows 7 codec pack Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs . Windows Media Centre and Media player working smoothly. I recommend for anyone to try this and see it for yourself.

I've used all the mentioned players and codec packs in this thread, and I have to say that Shark007's Win7 codec pack and 64bit addon is by far the Lightest, most complete, and easiest to use setup I've ever used. Plus no need to install any other player as WMP and WMC work perfectly with this pack installed.

He's also made a small launcher for settings adjustments that certain codecs allow, and his forum will get you any help you may need or answer any other questions.

This pack is all you will need and contains ONLY the codecs that work with this OS, nothing more, nothing less, but everything plays with Windows players using it.

VLC plays everything already, why not just use that? But then again, I can understand people wanting to use their favorite program for certain things, I just hate hassling with finding codecs. A lot of the time, even with codecs, WMP always would play the audio of an AVI with no video for me. Thats when I permanently switched to VLC.

Worked for me, but McAfee wasn't very happy with some of the stuff in that package. What's up with that?

Hello to all, great forum and thank you for having me. I was lucky to find this thread instead of making one.

Here's my dilemma, Im currently using Windows 7 7100 build and its been pretty cool, I enjoy it alot. However one of the my main indulgences is anime, and Im currently having an issue with it. I had Vista Ultimate 64 before I update to this 64 bit 7 and in the old one I used Media Player Classic to watch all my anime, with this build of it, I can see and hear the audio on MPC flawlessly, however the subtitles do not show up, yet surprisingly things that happen in lets say the intro, like particular animations play and they play all the way through like they should, which gives me that false sense of everything being ok, when its not. I can glance at the options and see that the subtitle option and most options are there like before, but Im not getting them. So then you can bring up the point of why not use WMP? I did, and they played and it was cool, but, heres when Im scratching my head, they get choppy and a bit laggy when I full screen it, yet if I full screen it on MPC everything but the subs are fine. Im sorry for writing so much, but please if anyone could please help me, Im in your debt
