WMP12 last played

Why does WMP 12 Last Played only remember one item?
Can I get it to play, say the last 10 items somehow?

Hello Mike am not real sure of exactly it is you are trying to do. I have it in my mind you have selected a list of songs to be played and it will not play anything when done except the very last one.

Hi mate,

When you load WMP it goes to the last played playlist whether a single track or an album.
What I want is to have the last played consist of a few last played playlists.

Sounds(no pun) like the WMP is a little out of whack Mike I have had a play around with it see pic and that is the only way I can see of saving a list of stuff to be played. Going straight into Play sounds a bit odd.

Actually I got it a bit wrong.
It's not the last played list, it's called unsaved list but it's always the default when I open up WMP.

Hmm don't know what this means Mike like I said sounds like the WMP is a bit out of whack but how??

Suppose you have done the usual sfc and chkdsk??

Mike that looks nothing like I have seen before my 7 machine gives me what is the pic and the 10 machine a blank screen asking me to create a playlist.
Did you try the sfc and chkdsk as I think maybe the WMP has got corrupted.

Another option provided you have the music stoed away is to reinstall WMP see this How to uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player 12? - Microsoft Community I would try the troubleshooting first.

I could have WMP like the way you have it (see pic) but prefer it the other way.
I could use a different media player but I like to keep away from 3rd party progs if possible.
What I want is for WMP to track my last, say, 10 tracks. I do a lot of audio mixing and use reference tracks all the time, it just saves me having to remember which comparison track I used say, 3 days ago.
I could of course make a playlist but the tracks I listen to change all the time,
You'd think it should be do-able without too much sweat...

Yes Mike I think they make it a bit convoluted too and like you don't like other audio software and in my desktops I have Asus Xonar DG cards which software I do like fiddling with effects, frequencies and such as I used to in my younger days make up my own pre amps and frequency setups (vacuum tubes though)
But back OT mate I am at a loss as to what to suggest?

Well, I give up, I've installed classic media player and will just chuck tracks in it as necessary.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help Mike but I have played around with my set ups and nothing comes close.
