Word 2007 - little white space remaining although margins set to 0

Hi, I've been cracking my head searching for solutions to fix this problem so I decided to ask the pros here.

I couldn't find any solutions to this (maybe I didn't know the right term to search)

Anyways please take a look at the photo below I think you would understand my frustration right away

I tried it on my PC as well as my laptop no matter the orientation - still the same..

I think this is quite normal & there is nothing that can be done about it.

Sam see my pics I can get to the edge left right but not top and bottom using the custom margins in 2007 see pics. For a quick fix just put in what you want and shear or cut with a straight edge and very sharp blade the top and bottom to suit.

Sam correction go to Page layout and to Custom settings and also alter the header footer in addition to previous settings to zero - it works! see pic

Hi ICit2lol thanks for the replies.

setting the top and bottom margin to -0.1" worked but the "gutter" on the left still remains there.

Take a look at the pic below:

I'm trying to make the picture a cover for an ebook that I'm converting later using MSword.

Any alternatives if this doesn't work?

Yes I get what you mean now I got the same problem I have toyed around and I set the margins to what we did and then I went into Paper and set it to A4 and reduced the width and then hit IGNORE when that daft warning comes up re resizing.
Now I am guessing this might work for the size you need the only problem is that strip at the top and while the left has gone it has appeared.
When I get on my 2007 machine later I will try again. But have a look at the pics and play around as long as yo ignore what Word wants to do with the doc

By trimming do you mean printing out the paper and then manually cut the white spaces?

Because I'm planning to publish this as an ebook online - no intention of printing it out as a hardcopy.

Yep Sam but for now I am lost for an answer I will check on my other 2007 machine later and try again Just seems stupid that one cannot get right to the edge of the page like we want.

Maybe another Word processing program?? - just a thought
