World of Warcraft Slow/Glitchy Windows 7

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and my World of Warcraft has been running somewhat choppy.

To be honest it is barely noticeable to anyone else but to me I can totally tell since it isn't smooth like it used to be on Windows XP.

It is like every second or so it stalls for the tiniest amount of time (choppy) and during gameplay the overall feel is rough instead of smooth.

All I am saying is that it isn't playing how it used to, not close.

At the wow loading screen with itunes open (and playing music), and firefox open with 4 tabs, and windows task manager open my cpu is between 15-20% and my physical memory is at 56% and the graphics on the cataclysm dragon are just as I described (he looks good, just not smooth).

My framerate was 80-100 in Shattrath city with all graphics on low but the problem is still there.

I set my graphics setting for wow the same as they were before the upgrade from XP AND also to everything being low and disabling all wow sounds.

I can also tell it is glitchy when moving the mouse in a circle (in game), it will blink like every second when all the other graphics glitch for the very short period of time.

Clean install

Plenty of HD space

Posted basic specs in my profile for this forum

Please help and thank you, this is frustrating D:

I can provide any more info needed

Updated drivers, restarted computer. Just wow open and same thing is still going on.

My graphics card ran wow perfectly when I used XP, is was smooth and very little lag from a graphics perspective.

Any other thoughts?

XP is different from windows 7

Switch off the visual elements (Windows Aero) of Windows 7 for better performance
Your card has just the bare requirements for the game, its normal that it lags

Belive me we get it .but what you don't get windows xp uses less resourses then windows 7 totally different os

Also if you figure our advice isn't working go ahead and take it to a shop so they will flat out tell you the card is a dinosaur

Only for so long that card will be able to maintain for any mainstream game which you have very little choices anymore I think it is time you invest in uping your gaming card you can spend about 50 bucks and get a much higher quality gpu but........ if you are too stingy to do this then go back to xp that is the only way you will resolve this but please keep in mind xp will run anything better because it is a older os and made to run with slower parts via what you are running

Also if a Gforce 8600 is the minimal for that game now you are way out of spec my friend

Yep!! 7600 is real "Stone Age". Get a better graphic card mate. You dont wanna miss a spellcast or a stun or hex because, a second matters..:P
