Password - Require on Wakeup

    Odd. You might also check to see if this may be the resume from screen saver not set to require a password if screen saver is turned on.

    Screen Saver Password Protection -Enable or Disable

    Thanks Brink.
    I have done what you suggested but still haven't resolved this issue. I feel however that a system cleaner/uninstaller I installed and ran on my system around the time this problem started might have deleted a registry entry leading to this problem.
    I will sincerely appreciate further assistance.

    One more thing to check is to see if you may have Windows set to log in to your account automatically at startup.
