Hi all, I have a question while i test with prime95, the testing speed among cores have differences, I'm using i7 950 oc to 3.96Ghz window7ultimate64, hyperthread disabled, so when i test with prime95 it is custom 4 threads. For example, while worker 1 and worker 2 are almost same speed doing Test 14 , worker 4 comes in late and doing Test 13, and worker 3 is the slowest and still doing Test 12. Is that normal? or does it indicate that some of my cpu cores are faulty? thx

If you get errors then theres a problem.
Make sure round error checking is enabled as well :)

AS far as 1 core coming in abit slower, its quite simply it had other work to do.
Perhaps you opened your internet browser, the OS had a backgropund task, the AV software needed to do something .. whatever.

At that point, it would have taken a bit of CPU time from somewhere causing it to fall a bit behind in Prime.

I wouldn't worry unless you are getting errors.

A couple more temperature monitors that I have found useful:
    Black Box
    CPU Cool
    CPUTempWatch
    HWMonitor
    Sensors View Pro

    Hope it helps.

I prefer OCCT. It stresses the CPU even more and shows graphs too.

    Only used it once.

I had a OC, that I was pretty sure wasnt stable, but it was passing OCCTs 1hr test.

To be sure, I ran Prime, and it would fail Prime at the 20 minute mark every time.

Keep an eye on your temperatures, and stop the test if the machine starts to overheat.
I'm running Real temp , but at what temp is my machine overheating?
Do i need to monitor the readings in real temp or will real temp trigger an alarm?
I cannot find any documents to tell me any of this

Your Intel i5-760 processor details page.

    TCASE
    72.7°C

The CPU case temp is different than the individual core temps, add 5°C to this for your max core temp = 77.7°C

Real temp will show you the core temps but you must shutdown the program when you feel it's necessary.
This is an overclocking program and some people don't mind overheating and damaging their CPUs.
All depends on how far you want to go, I stay under 77.7°C, Prime95 on my i5-750 3.84GHz OC runs at 58°C.

Real temp has given me max temps of 86*C while running Prime95 in "Blend"test mode".
Prime95 gives me Max temps of 81-82*C while running in "Small FFT's mode"

However i read in some of the associated links on this forum, that with RealTemp perhaps the readings can be out by a few degrees

Computer appears to pass all Prime95 testing i've done

Please note idle temps are around 33*C

So I am not really sure whats going on.
Could the readings I'm getting here....be a result of my problems here https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...d-etc-etc.html
I've run all the other testing suggested in my thread and they have all passed ok as well.
    Thanks
    Greg
