The other upgrade tute's mention it too.

I suppose one could run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant as the system isn't really too different under the hood.

Hey Peter,

Nar, the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor is still available. Link updated in tutorial.

We have a separate tutorial at Eight Forums for the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant.

The 8.26 MB Windows7UpgradeAdvisorSetup.exe file downloaded for me?

Did you uncheck all the other options?

OMG sorry, it's Firefox 33 dagnabbit...works fine in IE or Chrome. I wonder why I keep getting that MS "I'm sorry" page in FF?

He he....I wonder if it's something to do with SSL3 - I think it's disabled now in FF. Will have to research how to turn it back on.

Yep - I downloaded a FF add-on called SSL Version Control and set it to minimum TLS 1.2 and that enables SSL v3 - restarted FF and now it works... Hopefully this will help others who may encounter the same difficulties. Trust Microsoft to use a questionable security mechanism for their downloads. Sigh. Thanks.

I'm surprised that it's not already built-in to FF, but maybe with the next release.
