I have installed Sharks codecs and still dont have thumbnails for merged files. Thumbnails working for .mkv files, but not for merged ones. Do I need to set something in Sharks codecs or MKVToolNix? Also maybe problem is because I am trying merge .vob files? Its DVD from 4 separate files and I want to do single file.

P.S. MKVToolNix with none compression on video file is the same - no thumbnails.

I've tried as you suggested but only get an error message saying "The track parameters do not match" Any suggestions?
