Windows 7: Optimize Windows 7

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

UGH... Buyer's remorse! haha. I have much to learn about windows 7 before I can really say what I"m about to say ... but:

Thanks very much for the tips. I still prefer windows XP in classic mode. I like my PC to be efficient and really feel that Microsoft has been 'distracted' in the last few windows releases. Trying to compete with Apple - "look how freakin' sweet our buttons look"

... This extra 'slowdown' is the only reason I haven't purchased a Mac before. This tower is sitting here at home now, but is likely to be my last PC purchase. Which is very sad.

I absolutely LOVE my XP machine at work. Perhaps there are things better about the operating system, or perhaps people just needed to be more creative in dealing with the old OS. These new windows OS's honestly FEEL like a step backwards in terms of usability and especially performance.

Sometimes 'simple' is best.

Thanks!! Man. I've been in these forums many times before.
Finally I decided to register and join this community.
Because all of my mates are zero on IT so it feels kinda boring in sometimes.
I'll be following experienced users that I already know here.

BTW It seems that you follow your instructions, cuz your system specs says SSD

When using diskpart, I'm noticing it never wants you to format when I go back in to the installer. Am I correct in assuming diskpart will format the drives with NTFS? Do I need to realign the SSD on the reinstall? Thank you :)
