Disk Defragmenter - Open and Use

Hi Brink, will it cause any harm or disadvantages if i defrag?

Is there anything i should take note during the defrag? Like which one should i leave out?

Just one caution. On some machines, when you open the defragmenter, you will see check boxes for all hard drives as well as recovery partition and reserved partition. The recovery partition is installed by the computer manufacturer so you can return your machine to factory specifications (just like the day you bought it.) The reserve partition contains necessary data so your machine can boot up. I would NOT defragment either of these partitions or they may not work. I would make sure to UNcheck (if the option to defrag is made available to you.)

Hello Brink, I have a few questions about the disk defragmenter, could you go over what some of the progress stamps mean? Like consolidated and such, thank you.

for the very firs time I am learning about the scheduled task and am very interested in learning how to automate many of the tasks which I now do manually... looking at the task that is pre-configured on my system I see the command shown below;

%windir%\system32\defrag.exe -c

in the Add Arguments (optional): "-c"

I understand /C is the parameter for all volumes so what is -c is that an erroneous entry on my command line?
