I think I have an old System reserved partition. It's one GB and it says is a recovery partition.

I have a screenshot attached. Do I need to name it System Reserved and it will automatically make it the way it needs to be or do I need to do something else?

    Hello.

May I ask you a few questions first?

    1) Do you have a set of factory recovery disks?

    2) Is it a factory installation of Windows 7?

    3) Have you altered the partition structure?

    4) Do you have actual Windows 7 installation media?

I believe you could trim down the size of the 'recovery' partition and create an actual System Reserved partition in its place.

May i ask for myself either?

I do have the questions you asked first but not altered any of the partitions structure. I tried Diskpart cmd to extend this System Reserved partition created at my factory install.
I couldn't extend this partition to the desired 200mb instead of 100mb.

Do you think i can create another system reserved partition like 200Mb then delete my 100Mb (is marked as "active" partition) without messing the install?

    Thanks BFK.

    Hello to you.

Post a snip of Windows 7 disk management for me to see, with a full description of what is what; please.

       Note

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.

This is what i have in Disk Management in that order.

    1) Recovery partition
    2) my actual C: partition
    3) System Reserved partition.

Looks i'm not authorized to extend the System Reserved Part.

Have you created the factory recovery disks yet?

    Yes!

I'm asking that because of eventually being able to multi-boot...looks 100mb system reserved is not enough

The one question I would ask you is, how complicated, how much work do you want to put into this because it is possible.

There are ways using the Partition Wizard Bootable Disk (PWBD) to shrink the left side of C: and add that space to the SysResv to increase it to 200MB and that should be enough for a multi boot.

Have a look at this one though you would need to shrink the C: just enough to get to 200MB for the SysResv.

System Reserved : Create for Dual Boot

There's also this possibility, Method Two if you want to have a go but it's up to you.

Partition / Extended : Logical Drives

It all will be a good bit of work to accomplish successfully.
