Yeah you would think but...

At any rate I did manage to get Core Temp working, as well as CPU-Z and Real Temp.

However the one program that's still giving me fits is Gigabyte's Easy Tune 6. The elevated privileges simply won't work on it (at least for me). That's OK though as I mainly use/used it for info only, so I wound up uninstalling it.

I have run into a problem. The installation is easy enough, as long as you don't follow the instinct to browse on step 12, but I just installed an upgrade to CCleaner. The shortcut brought up the UAC screen. Fine, I thought, I'll just go through the process again. But at the second OK (step 9) I received a message that stated that there was already an entry for CCleaner in the library and when I clicked OK I ended up back at Step 2. I haven't figured out a way to remove that previous occurrence of CCleaner from the library. There has to be a way, but I don't know what it is. Will you please let me know what to do?

I finally decided to double-click rather than click once on the Scheduler Library shown in Step 2. That made it rather trivial but I didn't and don't know how to withdraw a question. I wasn't able to get past step 9 because of the existing CCleaner in that library. Believe me, I read all of the tutorials to the end.

I know that I've stated that this technique is invaluable previously. But by now I've passed it on to relatives and friends. They're all wild about it. BTW, although I've never run Vista, except for a week on my sister-in-laws laptop, it would appear that this also works on Vista SP1. So everybody told me to say thanks again. Therefore, thanks again. :)

This is a reasonably complicated process. I messed up the first time, and once again later. But I'm still 8 victories to 2 defeats. It's very easy to make a mistake. But the ability to block UAC on trusted programs is worth the effort.
