    Hi Shaun

Just thought i would mention this has stopped working again on my home premium with sp1 installed after using the sp1 clean-up tool.Im unable to change any of the log on/off or shutting down messages again now.

Also ive used sfc/scannow to reset the files. They have reset in the system32\en-US folder but my custom messages i created still show on login/logoff and shutdown

    Regards Danny

LOL, you had to go and mess with it.

I'm not sure what else you can do since it still works for me and I can't reproduce your issue. I'll post back if I come with an idea for you.

    Hello Abu,

Even though you have Ultimate, it seems that you may still need to install SP1 (see NOTE box at top of tutorial) if you have not already for it to work.

Interesting... Stopped working for me also.
Seems that SP1 has become a necessity for it.. >_<

Sad. I'll be happy once the final SP1 is released through Windows Updates sometime this Q1 of 2011.
