Greetings, is it possible to simply "remove" this "Command Bar"? I like a minimalistic UI and I never use this command bar.

Here's my very simplified hack to remove the "command bar", aka "explorer toolbar", aka "folder band": You need Resource Hacker
First backup, then take ownership and full control of shell32.dll.
Open shell32.dll with Resource Hacker
Go to UIFILE 12 and delete this line (Line 6):
<FolderBandModule ModuleID="FolderBandModule"/>
Click the Compile button.
File > Save
(Note: When you save an edited shell32.dll file, Windows creates a copy of the current file and names it shell32_original.dll. Later, after rebooting, if you want to do more editing, first delete this shell32_original.dll file, or Windows will not allow you to use "File > Save" to keep your new edits.)
Exit ResHacker
Reboot.
Hi, how i can restore default registry settings from this tutorial?I didn't create backup.
Hello Tuck,
I'm assuming you mean from OPTION TWO. If you like, let me know which button(s) you deleted using OPTION TWO, and I could post a REG file with their default registry settings.
You could use the tutorial to add the Windows Explorer buttons that you removed to restore them.
If you do not remember, then you could also do a system restore using a restore point dated before you made the changes to restore them and the registry.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
Thanks for reply, confirm, that mentioned second option. Modifying explorer toolbar third time, and stuck with two buttons, email and slide show, that are still appearing even with all buttons removed, from all CLSID's. Try to solve it by myself if you share the registry file.
Sorry, don't have much time.
If I provide a REG file to restore the default entries, it will restore all the buttons. Is that what you were wanting?
Did you try OPTION ONE to see if it may be able to remove those two?

This will be great.
I was trying to use tool from first option, but somehow, its not changed any of buttons, also tried similar tool called Explorer Toolbar Editor, and again no luck. I guess, it might be caused by my windows services configuration. I will check that soon.
