How to Add or Remove "Open Command Window Here" from Context Menu in Windows
InformationThis will show you how to add or remove Open Command Window Here from the context menu of the desktop, folders, and drives in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do the steps in this tutorial.
EXAMPLE: Open Command Window Here
NOTE: This is when you press and hold the Shift key and right click on a folder or drive, or right click on the desktop, to click on Open Command Window Here to open a command prompt with the focus at the folder or drive.
Here's How:
1. To Add "Open Command Window Here" to Context MenuThat's it
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 3 below.2. To Remove "Open Command Window Here" from Context Menu
Add_Open_Command_Window_Here.reg
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 3 below.3. Save the .reg file to the desktop.
Remove_Open_Command_Window_Here.reg
4. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
5. When prompted, click on Run, Yes (UAC-Windows 7/8) or Continue (UAC-Vista), Yes, and OK to approve merging the .reg file.
6. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
