Reset_Gadgets.bat Worked
THANK YOU SO MUCH, IT WORKED LIKE A MIRACLE,
I tried a lot of work like "SFC /SCANNOW Command" and many like this, but no one did not work.
I would also like to thank you for your help. Can you please tell me if this .bat will
repair any gadget that I install? I am having trouble with a Kaspersky gadget and I
have tried explaining and I have sent a screenshot. Their answer is reboot. This gadget is very usefull for shortcuts to various parts of the antispyware software. Reboots each time is a nonstarter. Thank you again from me in the UK.
Best wishes D.Hughes
Hello D.Hughes,
The .bat file doesn't fix the gadgets themselves, but only resets and re-registers the gadget settings and permissions back to default in Windows 7 to hopefully allow the gadgets to run properly afterwards. It's worth a try to see if it may help though.
If their is something wrong with the gadget itself, then only the publisher (ex: Kaspersky) can fix it with a update or new release of it.
Your excellent batch file worked !!!
Thank You
God bless YOU i was very of it;
Brink, I am back again.Could you please help. I do not know how to program but this is what I would like to do. I have put a shortcut on the quick launch bar which runs your fix, however the CMD window stays open. I have tried typing EXIT at the end but this does not seem to close the cmd window. I have tried it in other places but because I do not know what I am doing I stopped. If you can please help.
Thanks again from UGGY from a cold and wet North Wales.
Hello Uggy,
Are you using the BAT file download? Normally you could just close a CMD window like any other window by clicking on red box X at the top right corner of the window.
Could you post a screenshot of the CMD window showing what it's saying inside to see if something may have went wrong?
Hi Mr Shawn Brink how are you? I think I confused everyone. What I have done is to download the Auto not manual .bat. I have Pinned a shortcut to the Quick launch bar and what I wish to do is- Click on the shortcut make the program run without any input from me then close itself when it has completed the task. I tried putting exit or end as the last line but nothing happened. I do not know enough about MS-DOS commands to make this work. Could you please help? Thank you again for all your help.
Best wishes UGGY.
