With a slipstream created using RT7 Lite, Windows 7 is fully installed first, then when Windows 7 starts up for the first time, the sliptstreamed apps will install one by one from their installation file the same as if you manually installed them in Windows 7.

Normally you would have a internet connection by then, so it MSE should install fine. If not, then MSE will just give you an error that it could not be installed. Once you have a internet connection, you could install MSE manually afterwards.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
hi shawn, thank you for the welcome.

im totally new to this and want to get to the bottom of this before going for it.

if rt seven installs windows 7 what happens to your own windows installation ? or does that happen in a virtual environment ?

Fuqua,

Sorry, but you misunderstood. RT7 doesn't reinstall Windows 7. I was refering to the slipstreamed Windows 7 that you created with RT7 instead. :)

ah oke, i was already feeling a bit confused :)

so here is what i did, i need a clean windows 7 home premium version, and i read somewhere that windows re-released windows 7 with sp1 included.
on this website:

** LINK REMOVED - They violate EULA **

u can download the official windows 7 iso's, unfortunate for me windows home premium is not on there with the dutch language. but on this website:

** LINK REMOVED - They violate EULA **

i read u can easely change windows to an all in one version, by simply deleting the ei.cfg from the iso. so that way i can still get home premium.

also another website had all the official .msu (microsoft security units ?) patches.
i could use those to slipstream the updates.

** LINK REMOVED - They violate EULA **

but i dont think those are all the updates u usually get right ? where can i get the rest of x64 update,s/patches, if there are any.

Fuqua,

You can get the MSU files for Windows Updates using the method in the tutorial below. Step 12 in the tutorial on the first page shows you more on how to do this with RT7.

A MSU file will be for any single specific Windows Update. You'll need to download the MSU for each Windows Update that you would like to have included in the slipstream to not have to reinstall that update after installing the slipstream.

Here's a list here at Microsoft: Updates in Win7 and WS08R2 SP1.xls

We also have the list available as a MHT web page file here under FAQs: https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-u...ful-links.html
