    Brink,
I think I solved the problem.
Now the RT7Lite making ISO file except on the desktop. (I can handle with that )
I'm just changed the option called "re-build all images" to re-build this image only" at the "Log" menu appear after I push apply and everything works perfect, anyway I don't need any version except professional so it's ok for me.

That's great news Yotam. I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted. Thank you for positing back with your results. :)

Well, you are kinda limited by the hardware that you currently have though.

Thanks for your help Brink. It doesn't seem there is any other option so the other day I just bought a new Asus DVD-RW drive with SATA connector.

I was kind of looking at it the other way and still am though that I am limited by the software/media. I think it's ridiculous that the Asrock board doesn't have at least one ATA100/133 connector when it has even older connectors than that. Then putting that aside I think its bad that it then doesn't recognise a PCI card plugged in with DVD-RW drive connected to that. Then crossing out those two options I think its bad that Microsoft own tool doesn't work for making a USB boot drive from the Windows 7 installation DVD.

In the end there was no other option but to buy additional new hardware even though what I have already works and similar spec, the only difference being the connector which has made it effectively obsolete.

    Cheers,

    John

You're welcome John. I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted, but to bad it took new hardware to do it. At least you have something new to play with now though.

Integrate post SP1 important & recommended updates

I just compiled & tested (on VMWare) an updated 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 ISO using a previously slipstreamed (with RTSe7en Lite) DVD, integrating 44 of the 46 post SP1 updates offered on my vanilla Win 7 Home Premium---all except the SURT (315mb d/l) & the October MSRT. 43 of the 44 updates installed on my test installation...all except this one:

Any tips on how to research why this update did not install, yet it was offered when I checked on my test install? How/where should I look in the RT 7 Lite logs, and what should I be specifically looking for, as I am completely unfamiliar with troubleshooting RT 7 Lite & am an average user.

    Thanks, Joe. :)

    Hello Joe,

I'm not sure why it didn't add the MSU file for that Windows Update unless a mistake may have been made. You might see if it will add it now.

    Hello Shawn,

I think it may have failed because of either/both of these reasons, since I did not slipstream either the SURT or October MSRT:

An update that prevents a "0xC0000034" error message when you try to install Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is available
    Notes
    • You must install this update package on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. You cannot install this update on an offline image.
    • In a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) environment, this update is marked as "Exclusive." You will only be offered this update if you have installed all other updates that are marked as "Important."

I actually was thinking the exact same thing when hearing about the SP1 fail to install problem. For anyone else running into a similar problem when going to slipstream SP1 and updates it would be a good idea to review the information on SP1 in the thread seen for this at https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-u...ful-links.html

@ Night Hawk: Thanks for the link, very useful, bookmarked.

FWIW, I recompiled an updated ISO and added the SURT update, tested in VMWare with the same result...SURT, MSRT and the aforementioned update failed to successfully install & were offered by WU upon first check for updates...
