Yeah, that's the way it works when you go to the Paragon site. That bothered me too. The next obstacle is that you first have to get a key from them. They sure don't make it easy.So you have to download a cnet installer just to download/install the program? Why?
I meant the Pragaon Backup Program, which isn't always free.
Hello,
I have Crucial M4 128 GB and I have question about thinks to-do after OS installation.
I installed Intel Rapid Drivers (SSD works in AHCI mode ofc.), but what should I do with write-cache buffer in device manager:
Check this option? I always do this on HDD, but I don't know what to do with SSD.
My second question is - what about search service and indexing? In SSD random access time is very small, so makes in sense? In default, Windows Search service state is automatic (delayed start)
This is one of those hard to answer questions. And Googling it doesn't give a whole lot of answers one way or the other. Anyway I've left mine unchecked for my SSD drive. And I too have the IRST software/drivers installed.
And be warned: Turning off (checking the box) "Windows Write-cache Buffer Flushing on the Device" runs the risk of data loss in case of a power failure without actually shutting down the machine.
Here's some thoughts on the subject here - Write-Caching - Enable or Disable and here Do you enable "write caching" for SSD's? - [H]ard|Forum
