No kidding but ccleaner cleans browser left overs as far as I know which I know full well how to do that within windows and browser settings

Can we agree to disagree on this one item

UPS :/
I set it to turn off after 10 minutes or 40% battery level I figure 10 minutes is plenty of time to manually save anything and shut down myself

Sure we can, we can disagree on most things. There are really only a few things about the OS that are absolutes, most of it is opinion. Do you like CCleaner, which is the best browser, the best AV and all sorts of things. I don't have a problem disagreeing. It's whatever works for you.

Mine is set to shut off after 5 minutes, enough to manually save things if I happen to be at the computer when an outage occurs. However, I run my computer 24/7 and have some processes that run late at night. I will also start some long processes and walk away from my computer, occasionally also leaving the house (I do shut down the computer if I will be gone overnight or longer). This isn't to say your way is wrong (especially since it isn't); we just have different needs.

I would never turn off Hibernate which is perfected in Win7 and one of it best features. I put a Hibernate button on the desktop of all my installs and set timeout to Hibernate at 60. With some SSD's having it Resume rather than Startup is almost faster than the eye.

Thanks, Steve, for catching my prompt about alignment.

I think the matter of hibernation depends on the way you use the PC. I use sleep instead and since I never leave a process pending when I put the system to sleep, that suits me well. I never really undestood the usefulness of hibernation. And since I started my SSD career in 2008 with 60GB SSDs, space was always at a premium.

My main system in the US is still running on a 60GB SSD. But I think this winter I will replace it with a 240GB model. I just hate crawling under the desk to install it.

If it's not aligned, post back. There are several methods to fix that.

Sleep keeps power to the RAM. A PC that is left sleeping is using RAM and power continuously.

Hibernate writes the RAM to the hard drive for convenient storage then powers off. When the power button is pressed immediately applies it to RAM for nearly instant resume.

Hybrid sleep continuously writes RAM to HD in case of power cut.

In XP and Vista Hibernate was buggy and less reliable. It's as reliable as a clock now.

Diskpart

Select disk n
List partition

Yours will not come out to 1024, but as long as it is divisible by 4, it's good.
I don't see a disk N :/
I suppose disk 3 is my external ?
