Hello Mark, and welcome to Seven Forums.

There's not a way that I know of to move the star to the left in IE.

I'm also not aware of any way to have the Favorites Center open on the left side in IE other than using one of the methods in the yellow tip box at the top of the tutorial.

Any update on this being able to pin the favorites center to the left side when you click the star? I am still on IE8, but installed IE11 on another PC to test it out, and appears to still be going back to the right hand side once I click the star button. Even better, I would love to just to be able to add a button to the left side to open up the Favorites Center. Its what is stopping me from using any IE above 8. Thanks

    Hello Necrosaro,

Yeah, clicking on the star button will also close the Favorites Center in IE9, IE10, and IE11.

If you leave the Favorites Center pinned on the left side when you close IE, it will still be there when you open IE next.

    Hope this helps. :)

Still not able to pin in on the left for good when you open/close it with the star button?

No. When you close the Favorites Center it automatically unpins. The Star button will always unpin it since it closes it.

The only way to keep Favorites Center on the left for good is to pin it, and not close it using step 3.

Ahhh that sucks. I found this link, I tried it, but not sure if I did something wrong

How to Add Custom Buttons to the Internet Explorer Toolbar | eHow

the script/exe I set it to just open winrar, but I could not even find the icon on IE anywhere with IE8 even. Was going to create a new button, and have the script run Alt-C then Shift-Ctrl-I

This will not work in IE8. Only in IE9 and later.

Nice. Do you know what kind of "script" it calls for? I searched for a while and really could not come up with any type of information. It says you can run a script, or exe from the new button. Trying to get it to automatically click Alt-C then Shift-Ctr-I in the script. Tried a bat file but it wont even let me select it.
