Thanks Brink, but I need a more specific script. I want to reset the window position (X, Y) of the applications. Can you help me? Thanks!

Usually explorer will open in the same position it was last closed.

Resetting explorer using the .bat file in the tutorial below for Windows 10 will also reset the position of File Explorer back to default.

I need to reset not only the File Explorer, but the position of all applications. There's a way?

    Something like this.

    Thanks!

I'm not aware of a universal reset position for all apps option. Plus, not all apps can have their position reset.

If this is something you need often, then you might consider if a guest account may work for you where everything is reset to default after each session.

    Harry in Marietta GA.

Brink, you have created a masterpiece of code. Thank you!

I have been using this Dell XPS8500 with Windows 7 since December 2012. I used the "reset Windows Explorer" to look at the Packing Slip which is the last file in my downloads.

Last week, I encountered the woes of Windows Explorer when I did something that really scrambled the views of my file system. That was on Thursday March 4. For 3-4 days, I have searched for a solution. I tried one of your earlier batch files that did not fix things.

Today I found this solution. When I open Windows Explorer, the view is BEAUTIFUL.

    Thank You!
