Win 7 clean install freeze up

Hello, I am trying to install Win 7 Pro 64bit on my Seagate 500gb HDD. I recently moved this HDD to a newer comp from my old one which would not support Win 7. This HDD currently has Win XP 32bit. I have run Win 7 compatibility check and everything in the new box passed. I am trying to follow this tutorial, except I cannot get past step 2. I can press any key till my fingers are sore but nothing happens. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Raytel, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you haven't already, you might see if you may be able to boot from a Windows 7 USB created using OPTION TWO below. :)

Went there, tried that, they told me I have a OEM disc and to go to the manufacturer. Everything on the package the disc came in says MICROSOFT! I thought that meant MICROSOFT was the manufacturer???

In that case, you might see if you may be able to clean install using the method in the tutorial below instead.

WOOHOO!!! Problem solved! I used imgburn to get the ISO files off my disc, then used RUFUS to put them on a bootable flash drive. Stuck it in and it booted to the install screen, YAH! WIN7 is up and running! Thanks for advise and tutorials!

and when i delete it how it comes to install the windows again?

    Hello Shankly,

Basically when you delete all the partitions on a drive, the drive become unallocated. You would select the unallocated drive to install Windows to. Windows Setup will then format the drive and install Window 7 to it. :)

hi,so i might see 2 drives ok,they're the same size of 1 terabyte each,f drive is empt and the c drive with the current installation,if i delete it to install again it will disapeare ?or it tells me that theres 2 drives?

normally i choose format ,whats the best?

so i should see a primary partition and when delete it comes unallocated?

    what does unallocated means?
