Ah, ok. The Start Menu is able to search beyond what is just in the index. To stop this, open your Customize Start Menu settings, and make sure that the two settings boxed in red are set the same way. Afterwards, the folder shouldn't show up in the Start Menu search results unless the folder is in the All Programs area of the Start Menu, or pinned to the Start Menu.

I noticed a problem when I deselect "Search Program and Control Panel"
Not even the shortcuts that are tagged in start menu are shown in the start menu search box when this option is deselected

Go ahead and check this option then to have them in the search results. I don't think it will show that other folder still.

I have created a new library, in which i have added 3 network drives. I have gone through the indexing options and limited the file types i am searching for.
Will this index update as new files are created on these network drives?
If not is there a way to schedual an auto update of the index?
I would also like to know where I can find the specific file containing my selected list is, as I have 10 other computer that I would like to update with this search preferance.
(and i dont really want to click thru all the file types again and again and again and again....

Hello MicTomli, and welcome to Seven Forums.

As long as the network locations are connected at the time, it'll update the index for them normally along with the other added indec locations in the background when the computer is idle.

Otherwise you could still rebuild the index manually to update them when they are connected.

    Hope this helps, :)

I'm afraid I don't know if that's possible or not to import/export an index like that.
