Since you tried this tutorial, you could also do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully undo and fix it. :)

hello brink. thankyou so much for the answer. but i still only have the other user on my screen now. i cant log oonto my laptop. is there any option to fix that.
yess i have done the system restore but it still remains the other user to log on

Have been fixing computers for over 20 years and it never ceases to amaze me how Windows can find new ways to throw problems at me that I've never seen before. Yet this website never lets me down by providing easy to follow tutorials and fixes for whatever situation. Thanks a bunch for this fix and the many others I've found here.
Did as directed. .DEFAULT Folder not showing under profile list in left panel.
