    Great news Patrick.

Wow, thanks for this. I accidentally dragged my My Documents folder to my desktop and suddenly had two of them—and if I deleted the desktop folder, the normal folder disappeared too.

So I restored both of them and followed your guide: I right-clicked the desktop (bogus) one, and clicked Properties; then on the Location tab, I clicked Restore Default... Fixed! Cheers, A.

Hi Brink I am trying to do this as has everyone else but after I attempt to enter the attrib +r -s -h "%USERPROFILE%\Documents" /S /D it simply states that "Documents is not found". I don't know how to work around this, I am running windows 7 64 bit. I followed every step above with care but still no avail. Please help

Hello Szuhan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

That means the Documents folder has not moved back to the default location yet.

Double check through the steps again to see if one may have been missed or a mistake made. If no issues, then restart the PC, then try atrrib command again. :)

I relocated My Documents and now I want to restore it to the default location.
I applied the registry fix to restore My Documents but it did not show up at the default location.
So, I tried option one but after the step 2 the displayed users folder do not include My Documents. Or the path to the location is c:\users\(My user name)folder.
    Could anyone help?

    Hello Churin,

Did you do all the steps in OPTION TWO, and not just the .reg file?

I forgot to state what I could not do after applying the downloaded reg: The folder(My Documents) was missing so I attempted to create it but was not allowed becaused the dialogue stated that "My Documents" already exists. There is " My Documents" with arrow mark on it.

    Edit:
I think I screwed up. I applied reg BEFORE I attempted Option 2 ,step 1.
