Is it possible to just move or copy the My Videos folder from it's previously changed location BACK to it's default location? Then do the process to route it?
If not & I do the restore default location process first what does that do to the contents of the My Videos folder?

I moved it years ago to another drive (from C:) but am struggling to make sense of how to restore it.
    Hello,

It depends on which option you use.

If you use option 1, it will move and restore the default location of your "My Videos" folder, and move the content from the current location to the restored default location.

If you use option 2, it'll restore the "My Videos" folder back to the default location, but you'll have to manually copy/move content from the current location to the restored default location.

Ooops! I'm all mixed up. I meant to say I;m trying to move it from E: to G: (both non-boot drives). If I just change the drives in registry will that change folder locations AND move it's data? It's 361GB so not easy to backup w/o difficulty & time yet obviously I don't want to risk losing it all! Thanks...

That's ok. No, that alone wouldn't move it.

You should still be able to use option 1 with the "Location" tab to "Move" (instead of Restore) the folder and its contents to the other drive though.

My Videos folder says it's not shared (I think it did even before I unselected it on Homegroup page then clicked save) but when I go back to Homegroup page it's selected again. At step 3 I can't figure out how to get to where the location tab is - clicking properties gets the general, sharing, security, previous versions & customize tabs.

Type shell:My Video into the address bar of File Explorer and press Enter. This should open the current location of your Videos folder that should have the "Location" tab available.

That got an error message. I've just copied My Videos folder to the new location & won't bother w/ it being tied to the Libraries structure. More trouble than it's worth. Thanks for the help.
