But I don't want separate partitions, I want one big drive.... If I wanted more than one partition, I could have just gotten smaller drives and just have multiples of those, but I didn't....

Besides, wasn't it this guide that touted that installing windows 7 on a pure UEFI system possible, yet I come along and it doesn't work for me? Has anyone actually installed windows 7 on a UEFI system with a hardrive greater than 2TB and without splitting up the drives to smaller partitions (or even a RAID system consisting of more than one drive totaling to more than 2TB of space) and also works without issue or is this just a theoretical concept that *should* work but in practice when you actually try it out, it doesn't really work since, blah is missing, or blah is not working, blah blah bla....?

It still works to install Windows 7 with UEFI, but without sitting at the computer, it's hard to say exactly what the problem is.

Do you have anything setup differently than the usual plain setup?

I never had any luck with doing that.

    Hello Jeannie,

After the clean install, you should be able to create a partition(s) from the leftover unallocated space on the disk.

I never was able to access the unallocated part of the disk (both from within Windows and using MiniTool Partition Wizard). I'm not losing sleep over it. It's just easier to keep the System on its own MBR SSD and put data on my 4TB SSDs (formatted GPT). SSDs don't take up much room.

Basically, UEFI motherboard, no dual boots, no RAID, etc... A single unallocated drive to select to clean install Windows on during Windows Setup.

What - RAID setup is dismissed?! Anything else? Be more specific so I can answer better...

Surface Laptop 3 fails to install.

I've tried this, and many other methods of installing Windows 7 on my Surface Laptop 3, but they all seem to either give me messages like "Couldn't find the license agreement" or it freeze while the Windows 7 boot screen is loading. What should I do?
(I am sorry if this isn't the right place to put this.)

Hello, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The specs at Microsoft below show the Surface Laptop 3 comes with Windows 10 by default, so it may not support Windows 7.
