Hello Drugo,

Oh my. Are you having any issues from doing this? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.

If your are, then you could try doing a system restore at boot using a restore point dated before you did this to hopefully undo it in Windows 7. I'm not sure what the procedure is for in XP though.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Drugo,

Yes, if done used on a drive, it will change the ownership of every file and folder on the drive to you, and set the permissions of every file and folder to "Allow" you "Full Control".

This could cause issue unknown issues with system access to these files, folders, or drive afterwards.

Yep, it's scary that it doesn't take long to do it. Hopefully, you'll be ok and will not have any issues from doing so.

i restored an w7 image
but i have not an image about xp

is there a way /tool /test to know that everything is ok ?

by the way i'm right Take Ownership change all the permissions to normal user? right?

thanks
you are always very kind

EDIT:
do you know i'm thinking about Ultimate Windows Tweaker

it can show Take Ownership only for files or folder

a new script reg key , for files only or/and folder would be less dangerous

thanks
cheers

Creating a shortcut without - shortcut written after the original name
as the titel declares, is there any patch or something to make Windows 7 shortcuts not rename theirselves to "application.exe - shortcut" but rename theirselves into just "application.exe"? I find it very annoying having to erase " - shortcut" from the name all the time.
