    Hi Guys,
Restoring the file default type .exe by merging the .reg file worked brilliantly for me. I am delighted if i hadnt found this post i would have been lost.
All i had to do was click on the .exe in the post download the file to my desktop, then right click and click merge. After that everything was back to normal.

The problem i had was by accident i had changed my .exe files to run on an ealier versions of windows and mine being windows 7 most of my programs would not work. Not even system restore and im not great with very technical aspects of programming so i thought i had made a big mistake and was trying for ages to fix it.
I might try and restore it now to an earlier time so it might be back as if i never did it at all. Really greatful.
    Thanks Guys.

Restore default associations for .hta files would be a big help (seeing many Win-7 folks who open .hta files in Notepad for some reason.)

    Thanks,

    Gordo

You're most welcome Zantek, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if rebuilding the icon cache may be able to help. :)

    Hope this helps,
