Hello PopV, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

If you like, you can download and merge the .reg file for the listed .exe option in the tutorial on the first page of this thread to restore the default associations of .exe files.

heh...Nothing works, so I don't know how I'd pull that off. I could possibly d/l it on another computer and put it on a flash drive. I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks!

If not, then let me know what else is not working that's preventing the .reg file from being merged, and we'll see what we can do to help.

    That did the trick.

When I first looked at that page I did not see the exe option, but after your post I found it and was able to copy it over via network connection and everything is back to normal.

    Thanks!

Hello MrShadow, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

Windows 7 doesn't have a default association for .cht files by default.

If you like, you could do a quick system restore using a restore point dated before you mistakenly changed the association to undo it.

Hello, I was wondering if I could get help with this--
I was looking through this list and it pains me to see that there is no way to find a .svg file registry edit. my file format was changed to be opened with notepad instead. I've been looking for a while now with no success. If you could help at all, that would be great!

    Thanks in advance,
    Brayden

    Hi,
Do you have a vector creation program
use right click open with and search for that program if it's not listed straight away use the Choose default program listing,
Then go to either programs or programs x86 to find the program and it's .exe = application file.
