    What is the default program for svg built into windows ?
    Did not know windows had a program capable of opening a svg :/

    Surprisingly it was Internet Explorer.

    Very surprising thanks,
    I would of guessed if you had Inkscape/ CorelDraw/ Illustrator or even GIMP those would be the default

    I do have a svg file probably more than a few but yes Inkscape produces these files by default
    It does show a internet explorer icon but ie can't do anything with that file type it's a Inkscape project file I don't have Inkscape installed anymore
    It will however open in CorelDraw

    help please


    okay..i downloaded a file opener program and it reset all of my files to "unknown program" when i realized it was useless and deleted it.
    well i have restored all of my associations, i think?? except i cannot get my default email to open with aol, which is the only mail program that i like...yes i know..but it was the default before i used the useless program. i did the restore file thingy just like you said and it doesnt work for my email program. any help will be most appreciated

    Hello inletwolf, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

    You might see if you may be able to use Default Programs to set the AOL program as the default for all of it's associations.

    Default Programs - Set a Program's Default Associations

    In addition since this has just happened, you could also do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to undo and restore your settings.

    Hi
    I'm trying to help my daughter who has inadvertently associated windows to everything so can't open anything except WMC

    Not sure if I can help as she's 2.5k miles away and can't open remote assistance or in fact anything but a heads up is most appreciated
