    HI,
I have done small script to log in to gmail by using selenium ide. Once the script is done, i saved it as default html type. If i click this html, it is not opening the targeted web page of gmail, instead it shows the target as the storage point in my desktop.. file c: desktop
I then tried your fix for html and it still opens the code page, in the file, instead of opening hte web page.
But if i run the script in the application interface that opens the web page correctly. So, i want to know, why it does not open in double clicking.
A .html file is not an executable file, so double clicking it would basically just open the .html file to edit it.

Only executable files will run something when opened.

Does the application interface have an option to compile the html code into an executable file?

Hi, Thanks for informing about exe.
yes, the selenium ide has it in its program and i think, that to execute outside the program, i need some more software and commands , i think so. When i dug deep in to the source, i find the plugin contain some http w3 something. I think it is related to the server of the w3 school who would have made the program. I already said that it is executing within the program surface. But , in one of the tutorial, they just aksed us to save the file as html.
Now, i think , as per your kind advice, that it opens only the html tags, as Window does not have exe file for this selenium. You have educated that the html should be shown as application , if one has to open the html otherwise,it will open your folder located html tags. Am i correct? So the browser only opens the html and not the script. For the script to run, you must have a exe file to run it. Please tell

Correct. If you open an .html file, it'll just open in your default web browser to see the code.

It would be best to create a new thread to get help with how to execute it. I'm not familiar enough with html coding and compiling.
