    Thanks whs.
Apologies for my lack of accuracy with my question.

The issue is that I cannot copy over the bootmgr with EasyBCD because the partition is Logical and not Primary.
Can I simply change from Logical to Primary (using MiniTool Partition Wizard) ???

Yes you can do that but make sure you do not end up with more than 4 primaries or 3 primaries and 1 extended partition on the disk. If you can post a screenshot of your current disk management, I will be glad to check the situation.

Looks OK. You have only 2 primaries and 1 extended at that time. You have one more primary to go.

Can I ask another question - as I am confused by the image below.

    Dual Boot - Delete a OS-partitions.png

I want to get rid of XP - the original installation. I don't understand how the Windows 7 installation is the BOOT partition??
Do I still need to Bootmgr - Copy to C:\ with EasyBCD as set out here?
Bootmgr - Move to C:\ with EasyBCD

BOOT partition and Bootmgr are 2 different things. Right now the bootmgr is sitting in your XP partition and if you delete that partition, your Windows 7 will not boot. You have to copy that bootmgr to your Win7 partition before you delete the XP partition.

Copied the bootmgr to the Windows 7 partition.
I did not delete the XP partition as I wanted to check that the Windows 7 partition would become 'active'.

I am unable to do anything. The system will not reboot.
I have not deleted any partitions, but I did copy the bootmgr onto the Windows 7 partition.
Can you advise again please whs?

    Thanks.

Hmm, something must have gone wrong in your copy process. The copy process is usually a simple process and a reboot should work.

What I suggest that you inspect your disk with the bootable CD of Partition Wizard. Take a clear picture of what Partition Wizard shows and post it. There can be several reasons why it does not boot.
