    Restore question

I imagine that this could also be used by me to standardize pinned programs? or possibly restore pinned programs from a user who's profile was corrupt enough to warrant a totaly new profile?

    Hello Zenicablues, :)

Was your backup of the taskbar created before or after having issues with the taskbar?

If after, then this will not help.

If you're only having issues with the taskbar, then you might see if resetting the taskbar using the tutorial below may help. You'll have to manually pin everything back to the taskbar afterwards though.

Before, Brink & on many secured places !!
-But this is really wired and most strange, but this Internet explorer user pined folder is separate story, duplicates, mess, zero bytes shortcuts & many more !!! I am not beginner, (only 50 years with computers !) but neither I can figure what was happened !! You are only person for what I believe than can know more than I, and therefor (and my respect for all your works) I ask you as
probably most relevant and person who have‚ very large knowledge and have contacts & can find (believe almost all answers !!!) answer on this issue !
Thanks again for your care Shawn !

It sounds like it may have gotten corrupted, or the backup includes items that are no longer on your PC.

It may be a good idea to reset your taskbar, and manually pin items back to start fresh. Afterwards, create a new working backup.

backing up and restoring Task Bar

I am managing most of this from previous replies to others but when I get to the command screen, it is not accepting B or R with or without space between letter and - Should I be including brackets, or a backslash ?

I am also having difficulty saving to Desktop due to other problems with User File Corruption which I am hoping to solve by copying all the folders/programmes/short cuts etc. prior to deleting the corrupt user files.

Would appreciate info in first place re saving and restoring the taskbars and starter menus though your tutorial is very clear.

    Hello Windy, :)

You should only need to type b or B and press Enter afterwards in the command prompt to back up your taskbar.

Thanks very much. I managed to backup the Taskbar. It restored itself because I had to do a System Restore anyway. But the info will be very useful when I finally get round to doing a re-install. I`m marking this as answered.
