It appears they don't want the general public to be able to get hold of it easily.Any idea why Windows 8/8.1 is not available in digital river?
I have no idea why they think that helps the consumer, or predisposes them to the product.
Finally they did it. You see? This is what happens when major corporations that are relied on heavily like Microsoft removes one of the main features to their usefulness, it has a dramatic impact on their economy so they put it back up within the following 24 hours. That should teach others a lesson.
The thing that FINALLY did it for me, and this is something I only read somewhere after a LOT of searching, was to use an iso-file WITHOUT SP1.
My laptop is a 2010 HP Pavilion DV6 2140 ED which had a hard disk crash, after I wanted to reinstall the OEM OS in a SSD disk.

The downloads are working again. Here's yours: Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1 English Official ISO download
If you have 4gb or less RAM I would use 32 bit. There are drivers for both at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...t=4116029#N976.
Put your wireless driver in the backup so you can get online quickly, enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) to run all rounds of Important and Optional Updates, with reboots, until no more are offered. Only import the drivers still missing after all Updates are done.
Greg just curious I see in the listing for the ISO's there seems to be no N's now and a lot of "U's" when advising which to go for which do you suggest I tell people to use/

Hey John, :)
The N versions are for Europe.
The SP1 U (media refresh) versions are the latest ones for everyone else.
What are E, N, K and KN editions?
Microsoft had to introduce the E and N editions to the European market and the K and KN editions to the Korean market due to anti-trust appeals. The N editions don't contain any media player software; the E editions don't contain the internet explorer; the K editions contain additional selection screens to download alternative media player and messenger software, the KN editions don't contain any media player or messenger software, or any links to alternatives.
