An angry old man complains: Please believe me, this shortened text message language does not make you look as cool as you think. Quite an opposite. In fact it works like insect repellent, driving many of us geeks away. I for instance never response to posts written like this, this time being an exception because your post is so annoying to read I just had to comment it.

Is there any other way to burn the ISO? The DVDs I have can only burn up to 700 MB, while my flash drive can only burn 1.8 GB.

    Hello NorthernStar,

You'll need to have media large enough to be able to hold the ISO file. On average, you'll need at least a standard 4.7 GB DVD, or a 4GB USB.

If one is to illiterate to use a real language, they do not deserve to communicate with intelligent people.

Being an programmer doesn't mean we are suppose to communicate with each other using machine language or a program language. We use a human language. Especially on a forum where preciseness is needed. .

Are you sure your disks are DVDs? A normal DVD has capacity of 4.7 GB, whereas a CD although physically the same size can only hold about 700 MB.

Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade 32bit
       #338

Before I begin my clean install I have a few questions. My Dell XPS came with Windows Vista, which I upgraded via an online download to Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I have the Windows 7 Product Key. Is this what I will use to activate the clean version? Also, when I upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista my recovery image was no longer available in F8 options. I have a complete backup of my data files via a ClickFree backup drive. What do I need to backup before I begin?

The first part of the tutorial covers everything that must be backed up first so nothing is forgotten. Did you read it yet?

You'd use Win7 Home Premium x86 SP1 English Official ISO download unless you plan to have more than 4gb RAM in which case I'd use 64 bit.

Delete all partitions during the booted install as also discussed in tutorial, create and format new ones as desired or just click Next after Deleting all and the installer create and format one large install partition for you.

Pay close attention to how drivers are handled in Win7 as it is different from XP.
