Thanks again, Karl. Edits made. The tutorial hadn't been updated since Skydrive came out. Let me know if anything else gets stale or needs correcting. This is an process with many variables always in flux.

ok.. i didn't think i was THAT stupid.. but i can't even understand fully the first step... 1. Uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup except AV, Gadgets/Stickies/Skydrive if you use them and Touchpads which require driver software running to use certain features like scrolling pad. Illustrated steps here: Startup Programs - Change. The rest are freeloaders that slow startup, hog CPU/RAM, and can spy on you. Programs can wait to start until you run them.
where is the msconfig???????????? i know about the uninstall programs and program files and i know how to access my drivers and that stuff but i am new to windows 7 and the search in the start menu didn't show anything up for msconfig.. so how do i access it? your tutorial might need to start at the beginning for us noobs i guess that don't understand all the jargon or make a youtube vid recording the buttons and such you click or where you type things in at to find these....???
Edited Step 1 to explain how to run msconfig as Administrator, which is also shown in Method Three of Startup Programs - Change
Hey now I am going to really show how dumb I ma where is the compatibility tab?? or am on the worng track??
A great example how the bloatware causes issues there.
