if you use the exe I have packed all in one, it should not disturb full screen applications if it is launched from a keyboard shortcut. I have it binded to one of my laptop special keys, I can real-time change the powersettings without disturbing my game window focus, but I am not sure about the keyboard shortcuts created on the desktop, you will have to try.

by the looks of it, the way Brink does it, it uses the .bat or .cmd launching, it will open up a cmd window, at most cases, it might un-focus the current application.

Thanks everyone especially Brink - I followed your advice:

Open a cmd window and enter this line:
powercfg -list > c:\temp\pwr.txt

This outputs (and thus saves) the GUIDs to a text file pwr.txt

I downloaded your shortcuts and made an extra copy, changing the GUID to a custom plan I created for myself.

Then I drag-dropped the shortcuts onto App Launcher V3, a gadget for Win 7 and Vista (which I adore, but get the latest version (3.3.5.3), NOT the Windows Gadget Gallery.

Now all I need are some more icons (unique for each shortcut). :)

Before I stumbled on this thread I was just about to install Power Plan Assistant v2.5, recommended by WinSmith in post #5 in this thread, when I noticed, buried right at the bottom of the EULA, that it also installs OpenCandy (as does CDBurnerXP), a bit of privacy-intrusive adware, so I can't recommend it.
