Can I make the mouse pointer fade away?

    I am building a kiosk
and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make the pointer
go away, after say 10 seconds.

    Can I do that somehow?
I could try all the schemes, but I am lazy.

    thanks

Hi Jim, and welcome to Seven Forums.

There is no option for that in Windows 7, but you can do the option at this link in Mouse properties to have the mouse pointer fade away when typing something instead.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

I tried to make the standard white arrow pointer bigger, but only succeeded in obtaining a tail. I wear reading glasses whilst viewing my monitor & constantly find myself "loosing the pointer" this needs swinging around of my mouse to locate the pointer which is surprisingly not that easy when your vision uis tunnelled at the screen centre & at a distance where text can be easily read. My font size is set at 125% BTW. I would like to try a bigger pointer in solid black. Any ideas?

Hello Peter, and welcome to Seven Forums.

While doing the tutorial on the first page, you can select the Windows Black (extra large) (system scheme) option.

I think your tail may have came by having this option below checked. Unchecking it and clicking on OK should remove it if wanted.

    Thanks

Yes I found that & when you know how it's straightforward.

I have spent hours trying also to get the desktop & screen display to my liking.
It's amazing how long simple things take with searches & reading multiple posts which don't always help.

So far partial success only. I initially had blurred text on a light backgrond colour, sort of txt with paralle lines & shadow behind - very ugly & very hard to read. Only changing to a dark background fixed this but ruined my chosen scheme. I'm compromising already.

I can see MS has tried but I think the solution is overly complex & it does not seem to integrate with apps like Office 2003 where I still have to put up with MS Blue everywhere.
    Again thanks for the help.
