It might be time to update the tutorial to include making Bootable UEFI Flash drives.

The tutorial works great, but some things need to be added, like using the FAT32 format, copying a efi\microsoft\boot folder to efi\ and adding a file named bootmgfw.efi but renaming it to bootx64.efi

Anyway, just thought I would bring it up.

    Hello Saltgrass,

That would make a good separate tutorial if you are up for it.

    Right click format

Hello, why do you have to go "cmd"(command prompt) way and not just right click on the usb disk and press format? There you can pick quick format and if you want it to be fat32 or ntfs?

you need the disk part steps to mark the USB partition Active. Format won't do that, if not Active it won't boot.

ah ok, did not know you had to active it, now i know probily why it didn't work for me last time i tried this.
Another thing... I have 16gb usb drive, do I have to make 2 partitions so i can have bootable and the other driver or i just make a folder after the transfer of the iso?

    Hello thugishangel,

If you are using a ISO file, then you could just use OPTION ONE to create the bootable USB with. No need to create multiple partitions on the USB. You could just create a new "Driver" folder to add the driver installation files into if you like.

Hello MrDongji, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Where did you get your Windows 7 ISO file from? It appears it may be bad or corrupted if you are doing the steps exactly from OPTION ONE.

I find the desktop is best to use when working with items.

Did you use the lower "PART 2" section in the tutorial exactly to create the bootable USB from?

    Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

If you continue to get an error, then you may need to download a new copy of the ISO files.
