    Hello Gary,

When creating a USB using OPTION TWO, it's based on this for if the USB will install either a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. :)

That seems to make this impossible then?

In his Stage 2 to have all 32/64 bit on a USB or DVD. There's no mention I see that says this can only be done on a 64 bit machine. I may have missed it being so long. It looks like it's not complete, but I know how to do this.

    7. Now to make bootable DVD image...
    Nothing after that.

That uses a different method using WAIK that allows you to be able to do so.

Hello Saddedp, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

You won't be able to use the DVDs to create a USB with.

However, you could download an ISO for your Windows and create a USB using OPTION ONE on another computer, then use the USB on your computer to install Windows with.

asus notebook no dvd reader-writer no instal disc

    Hello,

Maybe this question was answered before, I didn't scroll all 12 pages in this thread, if it has been, sorry for that.

my problem: to create boot from USB for reinstall built-in windows 7 starter after desired reformat, asus ee notebook doesn't come with dvd writer only USB plugs, have formatted USB NTFS but windows own recovery tool keeps refusing to recognise formatted stick as valid to save windows image on. Seems already clear to me when I would have the windows ISO how to get it on the stick, only question is then how I can create the windows ISO without having the install disc (I know some posts mention downloadable ISO for any windows type but how will windows know I've installed a valid purchased version?).

Thanks in advance for the answer,

    Kind regards,

    Fabien

Hello Fabien, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

Did you use OPTION ONE for the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool with the ISO to create a bootable USB flash drive?

Before you start, make sure that you have your OEM product key on the COA sticker on the back of computer case (desktop), on the bottom (laptop), or under the battery (laptop).

There is an error in the tutorial.

Under Partition scheme and target system type, select MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI computers.
    Under File system, select FAT32.
