Well, for what I want to do, it doesn't help at all. But i will look into getting another hard drive when I get the money to. Thanks anyways :)
I notice Ubuntu sitting there on your CD ROM. I think there are other good reasons to have it installed on a separate HDD. If/when you do install it on a 2nd HDD I'd do it with your Windows drive disconnected.

Yeah, I had it in my drive, but I hadn't done anything with it yet. Before HP rolled out an update that took the 4th partition, I had it installed on my only HDD and it did just fine, up until I got tired of it and removed it.

And do you mean disconnect the Windows drive for the installation only, or every time I boot to Ubuntu?

Hello Ramjitk, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Could you post a screenshot of your Disk Management window showing all of your drive's layout?

This will better help to determine what your options may be.

Use the bootable CD of this program (last entry on the webpage) http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html and set your C partition to "logical". The controls are under the Partition tab > Modify. Then you have only 3 primaries and there is no danger of dynamics.

please Help me out if some can

I am writing from Xiamen China. No one understand english here therefore plz guide me.
I have new HP probook 4530s. It has three partitions by default, HP_Recovery, HP_Tools and C. I have unallocated space of 133.7 GB and i wish to create new partition D from it.
I follow the same procedure from forum but in the end i click NO when receive the message that convert it dynamic (as explained on forum that i have to click NO, otherwise i will be unable to reboot).
By clicking NO, the result is the same and i am unable to allot the free space and make it usable.

I will be extreamly thankful to you.
