    Hi whs,
Thx for response. That will be the last resort to try out to verify.
Prior to this, I am still hope for the primary partition if possible.
The original disk condition is already composed of 3 primary partitions ( Recovery Partition, System Reserved, and Acer C:)(as shown in my previous screenshot). Since a disk only allow a max of 3 primary partitions, that is why I will get logical drive for further extention? Is there any more chance of workaround to get primary partition of my Linux OS installation?
    Thx.

You can make the 4th partition a primary. A maximum of 4 primaries per drive is allowed. But that's the end of the line. And I do not know how Linux would deal with the swap partition. If that is an independent 5th partition, then you run the risk of getting everything converted to Dynamics - and that is a mess. I think it is safer to stick to the logical.

ok thx. I will heed to your advise. First I will check with Mandriva main-site on any hiccup with logical drive before I proceed.
    Thx again!

That sounds prudent. And one never can have enough info.

    Primary partition

    Hey !
Im new here and this is my first question :) so ive done this tutorial and i have now 4 partitions. First is a "back up(13gt)" volume, then system reserved (100mt) then C: and then partition which ive made(WindowsXP). The problem is now that i need 3 (system reserved, C and WindowsXP) primary partitions but ive only one (back up). How can i change them?

Hello Antti, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It would be easier to use a 3rd party program like the free Partition Wizard Home Edition to delete the partition you do not want and extend another partition into it's not unallocated space.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    HraHuuh,

Those are dynamic partitions. Backup anything that you do not want to lose to be safe. Afterwards, see if this may be able to help you convert those dynamic partitions back to primary partitions.

How to convert dynamic disk to basic disk with Partition Wizard?

Huh, dynamic partitions. It is completely beyond me that the system does not exercise more control over that trap. Especially these days where most new systems already have 3 primaries out of the box. They should make it very difficult to attempt to create a 5th primary - even the 4th partition should be an extended by default.
